MASON is a project that was conceived and developed, along with selected consultants, by Barbara McAneny MD in 2018. It was submitted by Innovative Oncology Business Solutions (IOBS) to the Physician Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) that same year. It received a 100% endorsement for every category by PTAC reviewers, but under policy of the current administration regarding proposals sent to what is now called the CMS Innovation Center, none are presently being funded.
